Martial arts for women is also a good way to keep yourself fit and alert. For most women, physical fitness has always been about losing weight to get that perfect shape or to fit into their favorite dress.

Though these are good enough reasons to hit the gym, there is some more good news for women. The effect of lower estrogen production has also been observed in post-menopausal women, according to the American Association for Cancer Research.

Osteoporosis is a bone condition that affects mostly women, especially older women. However, physical fitness has been known to reduce the chances of a woman being affected by it. This has primarily been observed among women who engage in load-bearing exercises and other strengthening exercises such as jogging, weight lifting, stair climbing, aerobics, etc.

Another great benefit for women who indulge in exercise and physical fitness is that they can gain healthier and better-looking skin. This is because exercise increases blood flow to the skin. Exercise and physical fitness have even been known to fight dementia by improving cognitive functions in the brain. For example, dancing, which requires memory and concentration is a good way to prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
