Practicing Kicks
Practicing your kicks is essential to the development of a well-rounded martial artist. A good way to practice them is to hold on to the wall with one arm and lift your opposite leg up as high as you can in the kicking position. Hold this position for as long as you can. Doing this will increase your muscular endurance and make your kicks stronger. Another method is to use an exercise band or rope to pull your kick higher in the extended position. This will increase your flexibility and raise your kicks to new heights. Another exercise, kicking pads, will increase the power of your kicks. These exercises are designed to better your technique. However, it is not a one time practice that will produce noticeable results, but a daily habit. If you work daily on developing your balance and coordination you cannot help but succeed. Keep on kicking!
